McPhetres said he and his attorney tried to schedule an appointment with Fernandez but was informed that she was busy and did not have a time to meet with them.
Last month, Fernandez told Variety that she was willing to talk and settle things with McPhetres.
This gave false hopes to some of the previous students of McPhetres who are asking Fernandez to re-hire the instructor.
But McPhetres said he did not receive any notification from Fernandez.
He said he will accept an offer to return as an instructor depending on the conditions of the contract and “as long as she takes back the letter of non-renewal.”
However, McPhetres believes that any such offer may no longer take place since classes at NMC are soon to begin.
“[If] she meets with me after the start of the semester, all classes would already have instructors by then,” he said.
McPhetres, one of the CNMI’s most respected educators, was at the college on Wednesday, his last day.
He said he is now looking forward to having “lots of rest.”
He said his health has been suffering since last month because of lack of sleep and lack of appetite.
“Its time for me to relax and take a deep breath,” he added.
He said he grateful to his students for their support.
