And he has confirmed that the military fully supports the Commander.
Colonel Driti rubbished rumors that he was going on leave and taking over the military barracks with the help of Lieutenant-Colonel Roko Tevita Uluilakeba Mara.
“It’s not true and it sounds hilarious to me. “When I heard it, I laughed about it because it is not true. We would not even attempt to do such a stupid thing,” Col. Driti told FijiLive.
“Like I said, I am still very much the Land force Commander and will remain loyal to the boss.
“I will remain loyal to the commander for as long as I am in the military,” he added.
He clarified he went on leave last week for personal reasons.
“The rumors that are out right now that I have been suspended, I can categorically say that I was never in any way close to being suspended or side transferred to any other posts.
“I have never been asked by anyone about the possibilities of being relieved of my command.
Only those who have gathered those information from blog-sites have been asking me. Never have I ever been close to getting sacked,” he said.
Colonel Driti also stressed that the military fully backs the commander despite rumors that it was split.
