Fifteen employees of the Department of Public Works, the Department of Public Health and the Department of Land and Natural Resources — all voters — requested anonymity.
They said they really want to sign the petition “but our job is not worth the signature.”
“If I could include my signature on the online petition then I will be the first to do it, but I will also need a new job in a private company,” one of the employees said.
Another employee said she voted for the governor but now she wants him impeached.
However, she added, “I do not want to be involved in any issue about him.”
As of yesterday, only 57 employees signed the online petition which was launched by a former resident last month following the disclosure that a federal detainee was brought to the governor’s residence so she could massage him.
Rick Vaugn said he is expecting more signatures.
The online petition, which can be seen at http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?fitialgo, also allows signatories to express their opinions about “massage-gate.”
