GOVERNOR Juan N. Babauta has required administration officials to take part in the executive leadership briefing on the CNMI’s Emergency Management System.
The briefing is set for Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Emergency Management Office on Capitol Hill.
The briefing will provide an overview of the emergency management system, describing the functions, roles and responsibilities of all departments, agencies and organizations in responding to a major disaster incident in the CNMI.
“We hope this briefing will provide a good understanding of our emergency management system so that we can all be better prepared to effectively respond to any major disaster in the CNMI,” said the governor in a directive.
According to Babauta, it is essential for the staff of the new administration to understand the natural and man-made hazards that threaten the community.
“It is important for you to attend this briefing because your agency is identified as having disaster management functions, roles and responsibilities within our emergency operations plan,” Babauta said.
