Guest workers soliciting signatures for petition

Rabby Syed, United Workers Movement president, said they will set up a booth at American Memorial Park for their petition signing campaign.

Human rights advocate Wendy Doromal, for her part, is conducting an online petition signing at  http://unheardnomore.blogspot.com.

Syed said copies of the petition will be sent to key U.S. lawmakers and to President Obama himself.

Syed at the same time thanked the business community for supporting their motorcade.

He said  the CNMI needs workers to help sustain its economy .

He also thanked the local residents who joined the  motorcade and assembly.

Syed said there was a significant number of local residents who attended the event, particularly the spouses of nonresidents.

The organizers of the event thanked National Park Service Park Ranger Nancy Kelchner and Parks  and Recreation Director Anthony Benavente for allowing them to use  American Memorial Park and the Kilili Beach Park for the motorcade and assembly.
