The petition, which was submitted to the mayor’s office on Monday, called for the removal of Crispin M. Ayuyu for “misconduct and dereliction of duties” and was signed by 19 staff members.
Rota Mayor Melchor A. Mendiola, in an interview yesterday, said he is now “reviewing” the complaints.
He assured the operation of the health center was not affected by the petition.
The petition stated that Ayuyu failed to enhance the employees’ morale and motivation due to his inappropriate direction and decisions.
The petition also accused Ayuyu of spying on his subordinates.
“This type of behavior shows his lack of trust for his subordinates and also shows a childish behavior,” the petition added.
Ayuyu was attending a meeting when Variety sought his comment yesterday.
The petition accused Ayuyu of unprofessional conduct and “acting as a dictator.”
“We are not little children…to be yelled at and threatened on a daily basis,” the petition stated.
Eleven nurses and other nonresident personnel of the health center have not been paid in the past four pay periods.
They were hired through Saipan Employment Agency Services, which has yet to be paid by the CNMI government $200,000 for the salaries of the nonresident personnel.
