These have been pending for almost half a decade now, they said.
The residents, who requested anonymity for fear that their applications may be rejected by Camacho, said they want answers from DPL.
“I just want to know what will happen to my application but it’s seems like even DPL has no answer to my question,” one of the residents told this reporter.
Other residents said “they do not know where to go for assistance” regarding their pending applications.
DPL assists qualified residents who need financial assistance in purchasing housing lots under the village or agricultural homestead programs.
But due to the declining inventory of public lands, DPL declared a moratorium on the acceptance of village and agricultural homestead applications in 2002.
In that year alone, over 3,500 applications were put on hold, according to DPL records.
But residents on Tinian may continue to apply for the homestead programs.
Despite online assurance from DPL that applicants who have not received their permits may update their applications, residents said the link —http://www.dpl.gov.mp/update_your_application.php — on DPL’s Website is not working.
