The governor’s special assistant for training, Peter C. Eche, Ph.D., said OPM already asked each government agency to designate a training liaison officer to begin the program.
Eche said each training officer will act as coordinator between his office and their respective agencies.
The training officers will then identify which training program each employee is best to attend.
Eche said the cash-strapped government has very limited resources, thus, OPM wants to make sure their efforts are well coordinated.
“We want to help the government get them to do what they should. But we have very limited resources so we are coordinating our efforts,” he said.
Eche met with some of the designated training liaison officers yesterday. Another meeting is set for Thursday.
