House Bill 17-41 will rename NMC “The Governor Carlos S. Camacho, Northern Marianas College,” and was sponsored by Rep. Eliceo D. Cabrera, R-Saipan.
It was Camacho who signed the executive order that established the college in 1981.
Cabrera said Camacho’s vision and leadership to promote education in the CNMI should be recognized.
Palacios said his committee will accept comments on H.B. 17-41 until May 13.
