Govendo remanded Petrus to the custody of the Department of Corrections. The arraignment was set for Dec. 21.
Investigation by Detective Norman Rasiang showed that Petrus was holding the larger end of a spoon when he tried to stab Fuanny Kelulau in Koblerville on Friday afternoon.
Kelulau later told police that Petrus confronted him in an angry manner.
Petrus said he was hungry before he tried to stab Kelulau.
But another relative held onto Petrus who was then taken out of the house, arrested by the police and transported to Corrections where he was booked and detained.
