Event coordinator Sharmaine Casquero said they have to reschedule because the venue will also be needed for other events.
Despite the change in schedule, 16 high school students have already confirmed their participation.
“As of yesterday, we had 16 students — eight male and eight female students who will be showcasing and modeling their own creations from recycled materials,” Casquero said.
She said she is very happy with the big turnout and hopes to see more students signing up for the show.
“This only goes to show that more and more students are becoming involved and interested in environmental issues,” she said.
The participants will also showcase their creations in a fashion show that will be hosted by the Division of Environmental Quality at the American Memorial Park Amphitheater on April 14.
“This event is organized to help spread awareness about environment protection and also in celebration of Earth Day on April 22,” Casquero said.
They want to reach out to the young people through a fashion show, she added.
“Image in Motion” is held in cooperation with DEQ.
Casquero said there will be performances from the Kids Legacy of the Saipan Dance and Music Studio as well as the local youth dance group Project Impact.
“We invite the community to come and enjoy a night of fashion and support us in this event,” Casquero said.
The show will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 each. For more information or to buy tickets, call Casquero at 233-2643 or Nenie Cayao at 888-2579.
