Professor Tatsuro Matsuoka, from the faculty of fisheries at the Kagoshima University, led the mission.
Matsuoka said they will evaluate and assess the progress of the fisheries development project extended by the Japanese government to Yap through the FSM government.
The review will be focused on improving the project rather than just identifying weaknesses and faulty areas.
The project implementation agency is the Yap Fishing Authority.
