Japanese player wins $68K in Dynasty’s blackjack tournament

Indo Mitsuaki came in second, winning $24,000.

Third place winner Takashima Akira, who was in the lead prior to the last round, placed  a bet of only $25, allowing Naoki and Mitsuaki to overtake him.

Akira went home with $10,000.

The three other players who made it to the final table were fourth placer Endo Chiharu, fifth placer Kawada Hiroe, sixth placer Kawai Hideo and seventh placer Tsuruta Naoyuki. They received $1,000 each.

Dynasty casino marketing & promotions manager Chell Funtanar said 49 of the 106 players who joined the preliminaries on Saturday afternoon made it to the semi-finals on Sunday afternoon.

Pit manager Nimfa Alarde said all players started with 3,000 chips for the preliminary and semi-final rounds, and 5,000 for the final table.

Casino manager Tim Blythe said the tournament was a big success.

“We have a good turnout for the tournament and it helps the economy every time we get more tourists to come here for the casino tournaments,” said Blythe, who was promoted as casino director on Dec. 1.

A baccarat tournament is scheduled for Jan. 15-16 next year.
