Juan-Galvin supporters to reorganize GOP

Noting that it is an odd year, Ben Fejeran in an interview last week said they will hold an election for the new GOP board any time this month.

The GOP by-laws provide that the election of new officers should be held every odd year.

Prior to the midterm election in 2007, former Rep. Thomas Pangelinan who was then the party president, reorganized the party and formed a complete House slate for Saipan’s Precincts 1 to 5.

The GOP won 12 of Saipan’s 18 House seats.

Fejeran said they already have a list of individuals whom the party can consider for this year’s ticket.

He said it is likely that a primary will be held for the two Saipan Senate slots because there are three individuals who want to run.

Fejeran said they will make sure the GOP has a complete ticket.

Roman Tudela, another Juan-Galvin supporter, said while reorganizing the party, they will make sure that  the interest of the CNMI will be their primary consideration.

For his part, Edward Deleon Guerrero, the chairman of the Committee to Elect Babauta and Deleon Guerrero, said they are now preparing to form subcommittees that will pave the way for the consolidation of the local GOP.
