Govendo directed Camacho, 37, to answer charges of false arrest, kidnapping, indecent exposure in the second degree, sexual assault in the first degree, attempted sexual assault in the first degree, and disturbing the peace of his victim in an incident that police said occurred on Feb. 23, 2011.
Govendo earlier imposed a $100,000 cash bail on Camacho, a convicted sex offender.
Assistant Attorney General Shelli Neal is prosecuting the case, while attorney Stephen Woodruff serves as Camacho’s court-appointed counsel.
Prior to the incident, the defendant asked the victim to drop him off at a residence in Tanapag.
Along the way, however, Camacho told her to drive toward the Marpi area and then to As Matuis until they reached the Old Radar station, where he tried to sexually abuse her, police said.
But the victim struck Camacho’s left eye with the car key and when he got out of the car, she sped away, police said.
