Education Commissioner Rita A. Sablan and Board of Election member Tanya King joined Koblerville Elementary School in handing plaques of appreciation to Rep. Justo S. Quitugua, D-Saipan.
“I am happy to extend my help outside my precinct for the sake of the students,” said Quitugua who represents Precinct 4 in the House of Representatives.
KoES principal Arlene Purugganan said the parking area project was funded by Public Law 16-22, which appropriated $367,000 from the third senatorial district developers infrastructure tax fund for the implementation of various school, waterline and road improvement projects.
Quitugua introduced House Bill 16-165, which became P.L. 16-22.
The law appropriated $15,000 for the rehabilitation of the Kagman II baseball field; $10,000 for the improvement and upkeep of the Veterans Cemetery in Marpi; $107,000 for paving and drainage improvement of the tangantangan road; $104,000 for the upgrade of the waterline in Dandan; $45,000 for the paving of the coral road at Northern Marianas College; and $86,000 for the KoES and Kagman High School parking area projects.
