Local dance group to hold concert

LOCAL dance group Profound Bandits is inviting the community to a “profound legacy concert” at the multi-purpose center on Saturday, May 20.

The dancers will perform original choreography.

Dance group founder Jeroen Monteneho, also known as “Jiro,” said the concert is also his way of thanking the community as he will be graduating from Marianas High School this year.

“I want a powerful ending for our group,” he said.

The Profound Bandits was created in 2017 at Hopwood Middle School when Jiro was in sixth grade.

“I wanted to inspire and motivate young individuals into the dance community. The Profound Bandits’ motto is to ‘Have Faith and Trust’ which means to have faith in whatever we do and to trust the process from God,” he said.

The Profound Bandits was active at Hopwood from 2017 to 2020 before moving to Marianas High School.

The dance group has performed at several community events such as the street market, the Taste of the Marianas, school events and proms.

We have good local talents that we can be proud of,” Jiro said. “Please join us in our concert!”
