Local farmers group to join HANMI

But Ramon B. Camacho, one of the leaders of the Farmers Support Group, said he will recommend that either Ed Guerrero or Sid Cabrera should represent their group.

Camacho said they are also laying out a plan to strengthen their relationship with hotels, adding that this is crucial to the agriculture industry.

He said they continue to ask hotels, restaurants and caterers to patronize the produce of local farmers.

On Guam, the farmers group is already a member of the hotel association.

By joining HANMI, legitimate local farmers  will be informed about the needs of hotels and restaurants, said Camacho, who is also the chairman of the Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council.

He said local farmers group are hoping to increase their produce so imports will also reduced.
