THE Philippine government, through its Migrant Workers Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, will distribute financial assistance to Overseas Filipino Workers on Saipan affected by Super Typhoon Sinlaku from May 26 to 29 at the Beach Garden Hotel in Garapan.
According to the announcement, OFWs with complete submissions must present a valid passport or any government-issued ID to claim their assistance on their scheduled date.
More than 400 listed OFWs are scheduled to receive financial assistance on May 26 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
United Filipino Organization President Carlito Marquez said about 2,000 OFWs on Saipan are expected to receive Sinlaku assistance, with each beneficiary receiving $100.
OFWs who applied online or via email but have incomplete requirements must submit a completed application form and photocopies of their passport, work visa, and proof of recent employment. The deadline for submission is May 28 for Tinian and May 29 for Saipan.
MWO and OWWA have also scheduled 200 OFWs for compliance on May 27, 400 on May 28, and 277 on May 29.
Walk-in applicants will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis, but only after all pre-registered applicants have been served, the agencies said.
