Three NMC students named Mobil Oil scholarship recipients

(NMC) — Three Northern Marianas College students have been awarded scholarships from Mobil Oil Marianas Inc. for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The Mobil Oil Marianas Inc. Scholarship recognizes and supports outstanding full-time NMC students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields. This year’s recipients are:

• Chelsy Anne P. Reyes, Associate of Science in Natural Resource Management;

• Hyena Kim, Associate of Science in Nursing; and,

• Vanessa K. Falig, Associate of Science in Nursing

Reyes shared her gratitude for the scholarship, noting how it strengthens her motivation to pursue a career dedicated to the environment. “The Mobil Oil Marianas Inc. Scholarship will help me on my academic journey by providing financial support that allows me to focus more on my studies and less on the burden of expenses.”

She added, “It motivates me to continue pursuing higher education in my field, Natural Resource Management, so I can build myself into a future biologist and eventually give back to the CNMI. This scholarship provides the push I need to keep moving forward, learning from my community, growing through every opportunity, and giving back in every way I can, all starting at NMC.”

Falig expressed similar appreciation, saying, “This scholarship eases the financial challenges of my academic journey and allows me to focus fully on preparing for a career in healthcare. I am thankful for the opportunity and for the support from my family and friends.”

For Kim, the award is a meaningful boost to her educational goals. “I am so grateful to be a recipient of this scholarship. The Mobile Oil Marianas Inc. scholarship will greatly contribute to my academic journey as I pursue a degree in the STEM field,” she said.

The Mobil Oil Marianas Inc. Scholarship demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to supporting higher education and workforce development in the Northern Mariana Islands.
