Huang Feichuan appeared in court for a preliminary hearing on June 11and was represented by Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller and a Chinese translator, Jean Shi.
Assistant Attorney General Mike Evangelista appeared on behalf of the government.
Huang Feichuan is facing four counts of trafficking of a controlled substance, and five counts of charges for illegal possession of controlled substance.
Huang Feichuan was arrested early this month and Associate Judge David A. Wiseman set a $50,000 cash bail.
The police affidavit submitted to the court stated that members of the Department of Public Safety Narcotics Unit and Drug Enforcement Administration conducted four separate buy-walk operations against Huang Feichuan in San Antonio.
The first operation occurred on April 29 where a cooperating source managed to purchase $250 worth of ice from him.
The second buy walk operation took place the following day where the cooperating source bought the same amount of ice from the defendant.
On May 30, police operatives conducted the third buy walk operation and this time the cooperating source bought $450 worth of ice. The last operation was conducted on June 3 where another $250 worth of ice was bought by the cooperating source.
Huang Feichuan’s arraignment will be held today at 9 a.m. before Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja.
