
LARRY Williams was sentenced to 40 days in jail after being convicted — for the fourth time — of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo on Tuesday sentenced Williams to12 months in jail but all suspended except 40 days. The defendant was also given 12 hours’ credit for time served.
Williams was ordered to report to the Department of Corrections on July 15 at 6 a.m. He will be released on Aug. 24 at 6 a.m.
Judge Govendo ordered him to pay a fine of $1,000 and revoked his driver’s license for six months.
According to the judgment and commitment order, Williams will be placed on two years’ probation to commence within 24 hours after he is released from prison. He will also pay $265 in probation and court fees.
The order noted that William refused to submit to a breath analyzer test.
Convicted, too
Yu Zhen Wu, Rayson Lisua and Romel Patillas were also convicted of DUI. It was their first DUI conviction.
Wu was sentenced to three days in jail and given 24 hours’ credit for time served. Wu was ordered to report to Corrections on June 22 at 8 p.m. and will be released on June 24 at 8 p.m. The defendant will also pay a fine of $500. His driver’s license has been suspended, and he will be placed on one-year probation after serving his sentence.
In addition, Wu will perform 40 hours of community service and pay $145 in probation and court fees.
Lisua will serve four days in jail. He was given 24 hours’ credit for time served. Lisua will report to Corrections on June 28 at 8 a.m. and will be released on July 1 at 8 a.m.
He will likewise pay a $500 fine and his driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days. Lisua will be placed on one-year probation and perform 40 hours of community service. He will pay $145 in probation and court fees.
Patillas will serve seven days in jail and was given 12 hours’ credit for time served. He will pay a $500 fine and his driver’s license will be suspended for 30 days. Patillas was ordered to report to Corrections on June 29 at 6 p.m. and will be released on July 6 at 6 a.m.
Patillas will be placed on one-year probation, perform 40 hours of community service, and pay $145 in probation and court fees.
