Man wanted by police arrested

He has been charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, speeding, and reckless driving.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $10,000 cash bail on Tydingco who appeared in court for a bail hearing on Nov. 2, 2020, and was represented by the Public Defender’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.

Tydingco was remanded  to the custody of the Department of Corrections and was ordered to return to court on Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. for  preliminary hearing and on Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. for arraignment.

According to DPS, on Sept. 9, 2020, at 9:25 a.m., an officer made a traffic violator stop on a blue Nissan 370Z sports car. But when the officer attempted to approach the vehicle by the driver’s side, the operator of the vehicle sped off.

The officer then pursued the blue sports car, the operator of which drove recklessly at a high rate of speed, making unsafe lane changes, overtaking multiple vehicles and causing near collisions, police said. Other police vehicles joined the pursuit, but later lost sight of the blue sports car on As Terlaje Hill.

DPS central office later received a call from a San Vicente resident who said that Tydingco “came into her property and wanted her to hide him.” She said she refused.

Tydingco then fled on foot to the jungle.

On Oct. 28, 2020, DPS asked the public to help locate Tydingco.

Three days later, in lower Dandan, police served Tydingco a warrant of arrest.

In January 2020, Tydingco was  arrested for a different traffic incident. In that case he was also charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and  failing to stop after being involved in an accident.

 That case is still pending.
