Manamko’ to stage ‘Amazing Talent Show’ tonight

Manglona, the Aging Office program director, said they were able to sell only 60 of the 200 tickets printed for the fundraising show.

Each ticket costs $10 but can now be bought for $5.

But those without tickets are also invited to watch the show and are welcome to make any donations to the manamko’, Manglona said.

“The proceeds of the fundraising will be used to enhance the program at the Aging Center,” he said.

Those who bought tickets will get VIP seats, he added.

He invited community members to see the great performances of the senior citizens.

“Everything is now set for the show,” he said, adding that about 20 dancers from five different groups, a band with six singers and standup comedians will perform.

He said they will also have a special appearance of talented beat box master “Ben B.”

The show  starts at 7 p.m. but the door will be opened at 6:30 p.m.

Manglona said they have a surprise performer, a senior citizen who can breakdance.

Before the show, he said senior citizens will play in a golf tournament in the morning.

He said the Saipan manamko’ will challenge the defending champions — their Rota counterparts.

The tournament will be held at the Capitol Hill baseball field at 9 a.m.

Aging Office Director Rose Mondala encouraged Saipan congregates to bring home the trophy.

“We just want to have fun and promote goodwill,” she said.
