Mayor Apatang: Remember 9/11 with a moment of silence

The mayor noted that more than 3,000 lives were lost during the attacks.

Memories, images, and the horror of that remain vivid, he added.

“Today, we pray in silence and remember those who lost their lives in the attacks, including their families that had to live with their painful loss, and the sudden emptiness that forever changed their lives.”

As a nation, Apatang said, America will continue to stand strong.

He noted that those responsible for the attacks were held accountable.

“Justice was served and it gave our nation the peace of mind that helped the families of those who perished to continue forward,” he said.

He said the U.S. has learned from the attacks and will never permit a repeat of that horrific tragedy.

“God bless us all,” the mayor added.
