The Saipan mayor’s office executive secretary Vinycia Seman said preparation for the accommodations of the visitors is now being worked out.
“We need the support of the community to provide home stay for the students,” she said.
The KSKK Student Cultural Exchange Program participants will arrive on July 25, she said.
The 10 students and one teacher will be on Saipan until Aug. 1. They will stay at their sponsors’ homes throughout their visit, Seman said.
KSKK has been sending cultural exchange students to Saipan since it established the program over 30 years ago.
The pilgrimage group of Sanpoen Youth Organization, on the other hand, will arrive on July 29.
Seman said the group will be accompanied by Buddhist priest Kanasho Kayaki.
The Sanpoen group will hold its annual prayer for peace for those who perished here during World War II.
They will pray and send off floating lanterns to the ocean.
