Rios gets 29 days for assault and battery

Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja originally sentenced Rios to six months imprisonment, all suspended except for 29 days.

Rios was released from the Corrections facility on May 16, 2011.

Naraja ordered Rios to write a letter of apology to his victim, and restitution whose amount will be determined by the Adult Probation Office for any needed medical or psychological treatment necessary as a result of the defendant’s crime.

Rios was  prohibited to posses or consume alcohol or controlled substances. He must stay away from any bar, or persons associated with consuming alcohol or illegal drugs, and should undergo and complete anger management and alcohol/substance abuse at the Community Guidance Center.

He will pay a $250 fine, a $25 court assessment fee, and a $100 probation fee.

The charge of disturbing the peace was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
