Part D is available for those manamko’ who have active Medicare Part A and B coverage. Medicare Part A covers hospitalization and Part B covers physician visits.
“We’re happy to announce that, to date, 14 of our manamko’ have been successfully enrolled into AARP Medicare Part D for prescription drug coverage, and more enrollments are expected to be completed within the next week,” stated Raena Celis, Brabu Pharmacy’s customer service specialist. “We’ve helped almost 30 people complete the enrollment application so far. We hope to help more before enrollment ends on Dec. 7.”
“Part D coverage for new enrollees will begin January 1st. The premium for most applicants will be $17.10 per month, for those older than 65 years of age and just joining, it may cost a bit more,” explained Ted Parker, Brabu Pharmacy co-owner. “We wanted to assist our patients to enroll because many have told us their problems with trying to call a Medicare representative or trying to enroll on line. Some simply gave up.”
Manamko’ wishing to enroll in AARP Medicare Part D are invited to visit Brabu Pharmacy and Wellness Center, open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The enrollment process is free and takes only a few minutes.
“It’s well worth your time if you would like to lower your co-pay for prescription drugs,” said Parker. “People taking generic drugs for diabetes or high blood pressure maintenance can expect their co-pays to lower to $6.00 for a 30 day supply, or go down to zero if they have dual insurances.”
