FORMER Miss CNMI International Celeste S. Mendiola-Flores has appealed to the Commonwealth Ports Authority to allow her restaurant to resume business at Rota International Airport.
Mendiola-Flores, who resides in Hawaii, asked CPA to reinstate the lease and possession of the premises considering that the authority also “contributed to the shortfall of sales” of her Chadd’s Services.
Mendiola-Flores requested for reconsideration in her response to CPA’s lawsuit that alleged she breached the contract after her Mendiola Enterprises, which operated Chadd’s Services at Rota airport, failed to pay $60,000 in rent.
In her response, Mendiola-Flores alleged that on March 10, 1997, without agreement or knowledge of her company, CPA posted no smoking signs within the entire leased premises.
“This further affected customer traffic and contributed adversely to revenue,” she said.
