MHS students attend authentic hospitality presentation at the Hyatt

The presentation on “Promoting Authentic Hospitality and Diversity was” initiated by Hyatt Regency Saipan marketing communications assistant manager Luis Villagomez and by John Scott and wife Sandra in the hotel’s Chamolinian Room on Tuesday morning.

Villagomez said it was the first time for the Hyatt to initiate a presentation on hospitality to  students.

“This is a great opportunity for us to promote hospitality in the Marianas considering that it is the only industry sustaining the islands. This will also be a chance for us to expose them to diversity, differences and the careers in the industry,” Villagomez said.

He said they were hoping to send a message of cultivating authentic hospitality  to the youth.

“We are looking at making this an annual presentation and next year, we will be inviting over students from other schools,” he added.

They are planning to invite Saipan Southern High School students next time.

The MHS students  learned about the different cultures and traditions from all over the world in photographs that were presented on screen.

MHS Cooperative Education and Training Program coordinator Tyce Mister, who accompanied the students, said the presentation was a big eye- opener for them.

“The presentation helped make the students become aware of the importance of hospitality as tourism is the main industry of the island,” Mister told the Variety.

He said  the students learned a lot from the presentations of Villagomez and the Scotts.
