The six high school students gained experience working in the divisions of administration, marketing, research and community programs, while MVA benefited from having extra help from July 6 to Aug. 28.
Before departing, each of the students shared a few words with the MVA staff about their experience:
• “When I started my summer training I was really scared, because I never worked in an office before. I though the work here was going to be very hard, but it wasn’t, once they showed me how to do it.” — Marian Lynn R. Ngirbabul
• “Working here as an admin assistant is helping me to get to know the work better and to know how the staff communicate with peers.” — Junella Norita
• “On my third week, half of the day I was assigned to research division. They taught me the three most important things that they’re doing in their division, which are editing, scanning, and importing data. It was a challenging task.” — Raquel Pelisaman
• “My time here at the Marianas Visitors Authority was my first job experience, and it turned out to be a good one…. When I went to Marketing, the assignments I had were more interactive with the busy public.” — Roseanna Sablan
• “Not only (did) I earn money, but it molded me (to be) more responsible and (taught) punctuality.” — Reginold Maniacop
• “I would like to say this summer training was a blast. I had a whole new experience that I’ve never seen before.” — Samantha Calvo
Each student trained for three weeks at MVA.
