National Counseling Week begins on Feb. 1

The week-long event will acknowledge the hard work, dedication and commitment to the students of the counselors of public and private schools in CNMI, said Christopher G. Cabrera, Marianas High School guidance counselor and overall chairman of the event.

Tiani Camacho from Kagman Elementary School, Sage Borja from Chacha Oceanview Jr. High, and Deveney DelaCruz from MHS read the proclamation, which explains how counselors work with other individuals and organizations to help promote the academic, career, personal, and social development of the youth.

“It’s a nice day and a nice event. We are in full support of the many good programs of the Public School System and we do that because of the students,” said Inos.

Schools will have different activities next week for their counselors.

“We worked with their respective administrators and principals and I think the student councils are also working together and they are doing activities just to showcase and honor their counselors,” said Cabrera

Principals, teachers, and students from MHS, Saipan Southern High School, Dandan Elementary School, William S. Reyes Elementary School, San Antonio Elementary School, Kagman Elementary School, Hopwood Junior High, Chacha Oceanview Junior High, Koblerville Elementary School, Kagman High School as well as Public School System staff members attended yesterday’s proclamation signing.
