BESIDES the new state of the art screening stations at the departure area of Saipan International Airport, the government has also installed a new computerized system that will track down and verify the backgrounds of foreigners entering the commonwealth.
The new electronic tourist entry permit System was launched on April 20. It was developed through a new software program of the Labor and Immigration Information and Documentation System, according to Pamela Brown, the governor’s legal counsel.
The new system will ensure that the CNMI’s security is maintained, Brown said.
The administration’s next emphasis is to continuously upgrade the immigration tracking system, she added.
