New police officers report for duty today

“Your graduation signifies the beginning of your duty, your dedication and your determination to serve the public,” DPS Commissioner Santiago F. Tudela addressed the new police officers during the graduation ceremony at the multi-purpose center in Susupe yesterday.

Tudela said the new officers have undertaken a noble profession that is demanding both on and off duty, and that the badge they are wearing signifies faith entrusted to them as public officers. The new officers were sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Alexandro C. Castro.

Gov. Benigno R. Fitial congratulated the new officers for successfully completing the program.

He also commended Tudela and  DPS for the effort in producing fine graduates despite the limited resources in view of the personnel shortage the department has suffered as a result of the military deployment.

Police Operations commander Capt. Lawrence Camacho said the class has been the biggest in number they had so far.

“What makes this class remarkable is that there are four cadets from Yap who graduated and they will be returning to their place to do duty,” Camacho said.

The cadets went through a rigorous four-month training in various areas including introduction to police career/DPS rules and regulations, introduction to criminal justice, physical fitness development/officer survival 1 & 2,  criminal investigation, emergency vehicle operator’s course, first responder, boating safety, criminal law, report writing, constitutional law, anger and stress management.

The new police officers from Saipan are Nathan S. Bermudes, Sabino P. Cabrera, Jonathan Roland SN. Decena, Josef P. Deleon Guerrero, Rodolfo S. Hermosilla, Buddy S. Igitol, Antonio L. Kaipat, Jasmine M. King, NamHoon Norris Kwon, Joseph C. Muna, Ruby Jean C. Oxales, Vince T. Palacios, Kelani Vincent B. Pangelinan, Patrick P. Sablan, Alexander T. Sakisar, Arnold  I. Sarapio, Maverick M. Saures, Carl K. Tudela, Jesus Jonathan K. Wabol, Tarimai  Joseph K. Yangetmai, Thelma M. Mizer, Roger V. Igisomar, and John Henry I. Tagabuel.

The new police officers from Tinian are Jason Jay N. Ayuyu, Herbert C. Borja, Kioni C. Cruz, Peter H. Palacios, Jr. and Leon L. Sanchez, Jr. From Rota the new police officers are Tito S. Hocog 11, Gabriel M. Manglona, Perry K. Mesngon and Shaw Clay Dlc. Taisacan. From Yap are Michael Defan, Kevin D. Lukagfinay, John V. Runpong and Peter T. Tithinfal.    

Valedictorian for the 19th Cycle Police Aademy is Tarimai  Joseph K. Yangetmai. Gabriel M. Manglona is the salutatorian.

Named as the Most Physically Fit were Perry K. Mesngon and Thelma M. Mizer. Top Gun honors went to Kelani Vincent B. Pangelinan while the Baby Pedro Memorial Award went to Shaw Clay DLC. Taisacan.
