Manglona said she was sworn in by Rota Mayor Melchor A. Mendiola on March 5, following the confirmation hearing conducted by the municipal council.
No one opposed her nomination during the hearing, she said.
“We already have one investor that picked up an application,” said Manglona, who served the Public School System for 22 years.
She started as a school secretary before becoming a teacher aide and teacher until she was promoted as acting principal.
“I worked my way up,” she said.
Manglona also served as a board member of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. for nine and a half years.
She is currently doing business in office and building rental as well as construction.
Manglona, an active Parent Teacher Association president, also heads a women’s association called Inetnon Famalao-an.
The other members of the casino commission are chairman Deigo M. Songao, vice chairman Ephrem S. Taimanao, secretary Justin S. Manglona, and commissioner Abelina T. Mendiola
