NMC hosts information session for government and private sector employees

Attendees will receive information geared toward employees in the workforce who are interested in advancing their professional careers.

The info session will cover the benefits of a college degree, NMC’s accreditation status, the admissions process, and the benefits of starting at NMC.

In addition, NMC will be discussing a new Spring 2012 Semester schedule, which includes more weekend and night classes in order to accommodate working individuals who are not able to attend classes during the workweek.

Financial aid options will also be discussed. For instance, the college offers a 50 percent discount on tuition for government employees who are ineligible to receive other scholarships.

Based on a study conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2004, people who have obtained at least an associate’s degree make close to $10,000 more per annum than those who have only completed their high school education. That amount nearly doubles for a bachelor’s degree and every other degree that comes after that.

Those who attend the information session will also qualify to have their application fee and their placement test fees waived for the upcoming Spring 2012 semester. This represents a savings of about $50. Registration for the Spring 2012 semester will begin on Monday, January 9, 2012.
