In a statement, Deleon Guerrero said she is hoping to return to NMC and continue “working with such a dynamic team of educators in serving our community.”
“It is with a heavy heart that I resign from this position to take care of urgent personal matters,” she added.
She said she was thankful to have served the college.
“The experiences I gained have been immense and, without a doubt, a huge and satisfying learning experience,” she said.
“Working with faculty, staff and the administration has been very rewarding, and as always, my greatest joy was in serving our community and contributing to our students’ learning,” she added.
NMC President Carmen Fernandez said Deleon Guerrero “contributed a lot to the college.”
“We are sorry to lose Cyndi as she has made tremendous contributions to the college and its academic offerings. After she addresses her personal issues, we hope that she can join the NMC family again,” Fernandez said.
“I am so proud to have hired Cyndi back to NMC and to have promoted her twice in her tenure,” she said.
Deleon Guerrero was hired first to be director of admissions and records. She was promoted as director of the School of Education and then as dean of academic programs and services.
