NMC School of Education anticipates more enrollees

MORE local students are seeking admission to the bachelor of science in elementary education degree program of Northern Marianas College following the recent successful graduation of 27 new teachers.

According to School of Education Director Sallie Sablan, they expect students who got their associate in arts in elementary education certificates from NMC to enter the program.

They are adding more classrooms to accommodate the growing number of students entering the program, Sablan said.

“Right now, we have two classrooms that are assigned to the college. But we are trying to find enough classrooms for all the classes,” she said.

The School of Education has also recruited two more faculty members to beef up its staff.

Sablan said by the time classes open in August, they would have a total of seven full-time faculty members, excluding part-time professors.
