(Department of Public Safety) — The DPS Highway Patrol Division will conduct occupant protection and child restraint check points on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
The first setup will be on Beach Road, Susupe to Chalan Laulau, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The second setup will be along Kagman Road from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
These checkpoints aim to promote the use of safety belts and child seats while operating a vehicle on the island’s roadways. In addition to these checkpoints, the Highway Patrol Division will conduct zero-tolerance high-visibility seatbelt enforcement at different locations on the island.
Our community members are asked to remind each other to buckle up when they drive, and to consider changing their habits if they don’t. Help spread this lifesaving message before one more friend or family member is killed as a result of this senseless inaction. Seatbelt saves lives. Everyone in the front or back seat, child or adult, must buckle up.
