The event is held every quarter, but this time there were six different stations on the field.
There were relay games, dodge ball, sack and three-legged races, and hula hoops.
“They go from one station to another. They can take as much as 30 minutes per station,” said Dino Taitano, a member of the sports day committee.
The teachers and school staff played volleyball that afternoon and it was the students’ turn to cheer for them.
Taitano said the event is in line with the school’s Familia Project which promotes wellness and healthy living.
“The CNMI overall is concerned with child obesity nowadays so fitness is a concern. The kids, through the Octopus Sports Day, participate in different physical activities,” he said.
