House Floor Leader George N. Camacho, Ind.-Saipan and chairman of the Special Committee on Official Conduct and Ethics, said he and five others have gotten their drug test results, and all came out negative.
The last drug test result that was submitted to Speaker Eli D. Cabrera yesterday was that of Rep. Joseph M. Palacios, R-Saipan. The result was also negative.
Those who have also taken the drug test and tested negative were Cabrera, R-Saipan; Rep. Teresita A. Santos, Ind.-Rota, and Rep. Ray N. Yumul, R-Saipan.
Rep. Fredrick P. Deleon Guerrero, Ind.-Saipan who is presently under medication for his ailment — trigeminal nerve disorder — have also undergone a drug test and is expecting to get the result on Tuesday next week.
Santos introduced a resolution last month urging all members of the House to “willfully” submit to a drug test. She said it is incumbent upon them to recognize their responsibility as leaders of the CNMI.
Lawmakers, she added must be held to a higher standard and must be accountable for their contribution to the performance of the Legislature.
