Casino marketing and promotions coordinator Chell Funtanar yesterday said majority of the expected guests or over 80 of them are from Japan, while the rest are from Korea and China.
Funtanar said the entry fee for the tournament is still $1,000 per participant inclusive of airfare, two-night accommodation at Tinian Dynasty, meals and cocktail drinks at the casino.
She said they are expecting a lot of casino regulars and a fair share of newcomers.
Tinian Dynasty held its first Baccarat Championship in January with Japan’s Okazaki Takao taking home the $65,000 pot money.
Imagawa Kayo, the first female champion, bagged the $70,000 pot money in the tournament held last March.
Last July, another Japanese player won the championship and took home the $75,000 grand prize. Kokubo Tomonoshin also won the $80,000 first prize during the tournament at the casino in September last year.
