OVR Director Maryann Borja-Arriola said the MOA will encourage and enhance collaboration, coordination, and cooperation between her office and CHCC-CGC to provide improved services to their consumers.
She said they will share program resources for referrals, services, costs and technical assistance, including training and education for agency staff, consumers, family members, advocates, service providers, employers, and other stakeholders.
“Effectively, change is almost impossible without industry-wide collaboration, cooperation, and consensus,” she said.

The MOA, she added, “establishes the terms and conditions that will guide them at developing, expanding, and improving opportunities for competitive integrated employment for individuals with disabilities, including those with mental health conditions.”
Through the MOA, OVR can receive appropriate CHCC-CGC referrals of individuals with disabilities who are determined to pursue meaningful employment.
OVR, for its part, will determine the eligibility of all CHCC-CGC referrals for vocational rehabilitation services and extend an invitation for staff development, education, and training opportunities to CHCC-GC staff.
The education and training opportunities will relate to the provision of services to individuals with disabilities who may be eligible for OVR or CHCC-CGC programs and services, Borja-Arriola said.
