CONTENT creators PalmTrio670 are preparing for their biggest undertaking: the SoMe Awards, which will be held at the Saipan World Resort on Feb. 3, 2024 to recognize CNMI content creators.
Jefferson Mateo, one of the “Palms,” said they want to celebrate the Marianas’ best influencers.
“We’ve been wanting to do it for so long,” PalmTrio670’s Loyd Lely said. “We’ve talked about [an event like this] before we even put out our first video for PalmTrio. We need something new to highlight people who’ve been in the game like Netty Cee or Frank the Crank, or @BulaLulu. They’ve been doing these things for so long and we just feel like they don’t get recognized.”
Louvicki Camacho, another PalmTrio670 member, said awards will be given out for various categories, such as beauty, food, lifestyle, fishing, “best collab,” and more.
She said the biggest award of the night is for Content Creator of the Year.
Mateo said the nominees have already been selected, and the event’s fashion theme is “Tropical Abyss.” People are encouraged to go “all out” when it comes to their outfits on the “black carpet.”
“Think like Lana Del Rey at the 2018 Met Gala,” Camacho said, adding that event goers can win the Best Dressed Award.
In addition, there will be event photographers onsite as well as entertainment and food.
The SoMe Awards are for people ages 18 and above.
Tickets will be available for purchase starting Nov. 20 at an early-bird price of $35 each. The price will go up to $45 per ticket as the event draws near.
