“I take note that these donations have been realized despite the economic difficulties of everyone in the CNMI,” he said.
He said the Filipino community and the people of the CNMI have truly made sacrifices for the unfortunate victims of the tragedy.
Macaraig also expressed appreciation to everyone who assisted the fundraising campaign.
“A lot more work needs to be done but these contributions will help in the relief and rehabilitation efforts for these victims,” he said.
UFO adviser Olive Yana said they have collected over $3,200 in cash donations.
She said they will continue to collect donations from community members.
UFO president Bong Malasarte turned over the donations through the Philippine Red Cross with the help of Macaraig.
