PSS Rocks is coordinated by the Youth Advisory Panel on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
According to Jonas Barcinas, adviser of the Youth Advisory Panel and principal of Hopwood Jr. High School, PSS Rocks will be held at Hard Rock Café on Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The PSS Performing arts will be held at Hopwood on Saturday.
“We are expecting about 300 kids from Saipan, Tinian and Rota and we invite the public to buy tickets at $10 each to sponsor a child to attend the event,” Barcinas said.
He said the theme of PSS Rocks is “Empowering Youth Leaders to Lead.” They have been planning for the event since the beginning of the school year, he added.
There will be different activities like games, raffles, rock and reggae music and various presentations from schools.
“We would like to thank our major sponsors for this event: Pepsi, DFS-Galleria, IT&E, National & Alamo Car Rental, Serenity Salon & Spa, Hollywood Theatres, Shell, Fiesta Resort, Saipan World Resort and Hard Rock Café Saipan,” Barcinas said.
There will be a technological display of Chamorro-Carolinian language heritage studies and performances by students from Saipan, Tinian and Rota during the PSS Performing Arts.
