Public Health hoping for bigger budget

The House Committee on Health, Education and Welfare, chaired by Rep. Ralph DLG Torres, conducted the survey whose respondents included patients, visitors and employees of CHC.

“If it’s going to increase our budget, by all means,” Untalan said, referring to the survey.

“But with the way questions are being asked, I don’t think it would lead to  [an increase in our budget]. I think it’s more about negative things,” he added.

Torres, R-Saipan said the survey will guide legislators address issues affecting CHC, from policy direction, lack of personnel to delivery of services.

The initial respondents’ input, especially from doctors, nurses and other employees, showed an apparent lack of communication between officials and personnel, the Variety learned.
