THE Department of Public Safety is classifying last week’s hit-and-run incident involving a Toyota Tacoma as a case of road rage.
The crash, which occurred near the Northern Marianas Housing Corporation office in Garapan on Aug. 25, went viral on social media. A tan Toyota Tacoma struck a vehicle and a cyclist before fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed.
Fred Sato, who was recently rehired by DPS as its public information officer, said on Friday that “the incident is being investigated as a disturbance (road rage).”
“As of this time, the investigation is still ongoing,” Sato added.
He said police will provide additional updates as they become available.
