Hard Rock Café Saipan operations manager Rey Perez said the teen talkers will be hosting the event which will include several categories, including the fashion show contest for children 6 years old and below, 7 to 11 years old, and 18 years old and below.
Perez said to participate in any of the three runway fashion show categories, the participants or parents of the participants must buy a Hard Rock T-shirt.
Fashion designers will also have a chance to win prizes by joining the contest in designing and presenting an eco-friendly fashion forward look using only recyclable items such as plastic bottles, paper, cans and other items.
For the photography contest, Perez said photographers who will be capturing certain events before Sept. 23 will have to turn in three photos to the Hard Rock Café. The judging will be based on the number of “likes” on Facebook. The events to be photographed include community activities like beach cleanup and tree planting in cooperation with the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance.
Schedules will be announced later, Perez said.
Photographers who want to join the contest are urged to join the meeting at the Hard Rock Café from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 17.
Parents who want their children or teens to participate in the Runway Fashion Show must buy Hard Rock t-shirts from Aug. 16 to 28.
Eco-friendly fashion designers can e-mail James Sison at [email protected] for more information and meeting schedules.
Perez said a general meeting will be held for all participants on Aug. 26, 27, and 28 to discuss event rules and regulations.
