THE Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation on Wednesday confirmed the nominations of Northern Marianas College Dean of Student Support Services Charlotte P.R.  Cepeda and Triple J Motors New Car Sales Manager Stephen P. Sablan to the Commonwealth Zoning Board.

All 19 members present voted to adopt the delegation’s Judiciary and Governmental Operations Committee report recommending the confirmation of Cepeda and Sablan.

The two were later sworn in by Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang at the administration building.

Cepeda and Sablan are filling the seats of former Zoning Board members Cecilia Taitano and Shane Villanueva whose terms expired earlier this year.

Special Assistant for Administration Oscar M. Babauta, on behalf of the governor and lt. governor, conveyed the administration’s sincere gratitude to the members of the Saipan delegation, especially the JGO Committee’s chair, Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, for conducting public hearings that resulted in the standing committee’s report that recommended the nominees’ confirmation.

Babauta said the Zoning Board continues to review policies and issues that need to be resolved. He said the people should see some important changes to the CNMI’s zoning services.
